Programme Overview

The Shariah RFP Modular Programme is the comprehensive professional qualification pathway of the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC), designed to develop world-class Shariah financial planning practitioners. Through structured modules, participants gain deep expertise in Islamic finance principles, risk management, investment planning and wealth distribution, all grounded in Shariah compliance. This package covers Modules 1 to 6 (18 days total); passing all six unlocks enrolment in Module 7, the Shariah RFP Capstone, sold separately.

Objectives

  • Apply Shariah principles comprehensively in financial planning contexts, demonstrating mastery of Fiqh al-Muamalat and Maqasid al-Shariah.
  • Conduct holistic financial needs analysis integrating risk management, investment, zakat, tax, estate and retirement planning.
  • Design and implement Shariah-compliant solutions across all financial planning domains using appropriate Islamic contracts and instruments.
  • Calculate and advise on zakat obligations while optimising tax efficiency within Shariah parameters.
  • Construct Shariah-compliant investment portfolios using screening methodologies and governance frameworks.
  • Apply Faraid principles and Islamic estate planning tools (wasiyyah, hibah, waqf) for wealth distribution.
  • Execute the six-step financial planning process of Establish, Gather, Analyse, Develop, Implement and Monitor with professional competence.
  • Uphold professional ethics and standards as defined by the MFPC Code of Ethics and Best Practice Standards.
  • Qualify for the Financial Adviser's Licence and Capital Markets Services Licence applications.
